Promoting Integrated Healthcare in Europe

EFCAM is the collaborative platform representing the interests of patients, practitioners, researchers and the industry involved in complementary and alternative medicine and working to promote and develop a more holistic and integrated approach to healthcare in Europe

It is our understanding that:

• Over 100 million EU citizens currently use complementary and alternative medicine approaches in their ongoing health care provision.

• That level of use should be respected and reflected in EU and Member States' health policy and strategy.

• There is a need for the participation of CAM experts in relevant EU and Member State institutions' decision making on issues to do with CAM

• It is time create a healthier system of healthcare that focuses primarily on prevention but which integrates the best of CAM with the best of conventional care to provide a more holistic approach to healthcare and an enhanced range of options when patients need treatment.
