Public Health Homeopaths take a strong interest
in the multitude of factors that influence the health of their patients.
The health problems that the patient brings are viewed within the
context of the patient as a whole and the patient is viewed within the
context of his or her life including all the factors which impact upon
it from the social and physical environment within which he or she lives.
Issues of public health are therefore of great interest to homeopaths.
Diet, exercise, the air we breathe, viral epidemics, the climate in which we live, the
chemicals to which we are exposed etc. all influence the health of each
patient to a greater or lesser extent.
It is for this reason that ECCH is an active member of the Brussels
based NGO networks The European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) www.epha.org and the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) www.env-health.org
On the EPHA site there is an article on Integrated Health written by ECCH General Secretary Stephen Gordon http://www.epha.org/a/516
In 2005 ECCH responded to a consultation document from the European Commission on future policy in Public Health. To download a copy of ECCH's response click here.
